2 airmen dead after shooting at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota


Two airmen are dead after an early morning shooting at Grand Forks Air Force Base.

Emergency services at the North Dakota base responded to the scene of the shooting at 4:30 a.m.

According to a statement issued by the base, both airmen were active duty assigned to the  319th Reconnaissance Wing.

“Out of respect for their families, the names and units of the victims will be withheld until 24 hours after next-of-kin notification,” the statement said.

“We ask for the time and space needed to make these proper notifications through official channels.”
