GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE — A search is ongoing for a missing 18-year old military dependent after she left the family campground at Grand Forks Air Force Base sometime between Monday night, July 11, and early Tuesday morning, July 12, according to a news release.

Hailey R. Sullivan was last seen wearing blue jeans, the 5-foot 2-inch woman has brown hair and glasses. She is special needs with an intellectual disability and responds to the nickname Hei-Hei (pronounced “hey hey”), the release said.

A media representative from the base told WDAY after 6 p.m. that the woman was not found on base and that the case would be turned over to the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office. Sullivan’s phone was found in her room, the representative said.

Military members and volunteers were conducting a grid search on the installation Tuesday afternoon, and those living in base housing and dormitories are asked to check all yards, garages and rooms, the release said.

The base asks that people report anyone matching this description to local law enforcement.

Further details will be released as they become available.
