Airman killed in murder suicide that claims three lives

A 24-year-old Adams County native serving in the U.S. Air Force was one of three people found dead in a suspected murder-suicide in Wyoming Tuesday.

Abigail M. Smith, originally from Fairfield, died in the incident, according to the Cheyenne police.

Police say they were called shortly after midnight Tuesday to Romero Park in Cheyenne, where they found three people had been shot to death.

The preliminary investigation shows that Brian Perkins, 46, met Smith and Michael Tolar, 44, all of Cheyenne, in the parking lot of Romero Park, where police say Perkins shot the two of them before turning the gun on himself.

“Personal relationships” may have been the motivating factor, but the case remains under investigation, police say.

The Air Force Times reports that Smith had the rank of airman and served as an electronic maintenance technician with the 90th Missile Maintenance Squadron. She joined the Air Force in January 2016.

The York Daily Record reports she was a 2013 Bermudian Springs graduate.

  1. “Abigail M. Smith, originally from Fairfield”

Fairfield, China? It wouldn’t kill you to throw a state on there, we’re not all from wherever the hell you are, stupid author.

  2. China seems a bit silly, Mr. Jablonski. Pennsylvania is probably a fair guess, as the story appears to be originally from a Harrisburg, PA news outlet.
