Man approaches Air Force base gate and starts firing shots into the base through the fence

Biloxi, Mississippi – A man was spotted firing a gun at Keesler Air Force base around 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

According to WLOX, witnesses on base said a man came into the gate at the base and fired the weapon through the fence.

It is not known how many shots were fired but no one was shot or injured.

Both Biloxi Upper Elementary and Jeff Davis Elementary were on a brief lockdown but they have been lifted as well as the base.

Maj. Chris Deback with the Biloxi Police Department said the department is investigating.
