Two Airmen killed during an aircraft “mishap” at Vance AFB

Two airmen were killed during a “mishap” at Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma on Thursday.

Two Air Force T-38 Talons were involved in the accident at 9:10 a.m., according to a press release from the 71st Flying Training Wing.

The aircraft were performing a routine training mission. Each aircraft had two people aboard at the time of the mishap.

Emergency crews from the base responded to the scene to treat the casualties and assist in the recovery efforts.

Authorities have not released the airmen’s names, pending notification of family members.
