US Airman found dead in South Korea has been identified

An emergency room nurse assigned to the 51st Medical Operations Squadron has been identified as the airman that was found dead on Monday.

Capt. Joonki Min was found dead at Osan Air Force Base which is near Songtan Station in the city of Pyeongtaek, South Korea, according to an Osan AB press release.

“Our team is deeply saddened by the loss of Capt. Min,” said Col. William Betts, 51st Fighter Wing commander. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones during this tragic time.”

The cause of death is under investigation, the press release said.  No other details were released.
