A U-2 military spy plane from Beale Air Force Base crashed in California’s Sutter County this morning. The aircraft was assigned to the 1st Reconnaissance Squadron and was on a training mission, officials said

The crash happened near the town of Live Oak -about 50 miles north of Sacramento. Officials state the pilots ejected from the aircraft but have not commented on whether any injuries were sustained or not.
It has been just over twenty years since the last U-2 plane crashed out of Beale, killing the pilot and a person on the ground.
